Plan on installing Alloc Original laminate.....Oiled Teak. Has anyone out there installed this particular floor. Does it look as professional as it is advertised to be? Would you recommend having a professional installer put in the floor or should I do it myself. I'm a perfectionist so I want to be sure it's done right the first time.

We had Alloc Original installed in our family room a little over a year ago. Within months it started to swell and finally buckled. Moisture was the cause. The installer and manufacturer both denied responsibility.
The Alloc flooring is gorgeous, but whatever you do, make absolutely certain there is no chance of moisture in your subfloor. Don't take the installer's word for it unless they guarantee it for at least a year. We tried to get our money back in small claims court and the court backed the installer.

We installed alloc original flooring in our home 4 years ago. We did the install ourselves and have had no problems at all. People always comment on how nice our floor looks. It is important, of course, to use an underlayment when there is a concrete subfloor.
The only problem we recently had was damage from recent rains due to construction of our home where we had a lot of planks that were damaged, but that wasn't due to a faulty product. We also had to take out existing floor in another room due to construction, but we plan to put the same floorplanks back again once they are done with the room, so an advantage here is that you are able to reuse the planks. No floor is perfect, but we're basically happy with the product. Some like the look of the beveled edges. They didn't have that when we first did our floor. Also, there were no lock and click wood products, or we would have tried that. The only disadvantage is if you damage a plank, you have to unlock all the planks leading up to that one plank. You can't just take out that one plank and put a new one in.

Sure, but what specifically do you want to know and what's the nature of your interest?
