I live in a basement with cold tiles and wanted to put a ceramic? floor over it or those squares of wood with crisscrosses on them.  I know little about flooring.  Help me out!

I think you should read Laminate Flooring Guide first.

Well, ceramic floor is quite expensive. I would suggest Snap Laminate. Lumber Liquidators has great deals on all types of Laminate floors.

Actually, rob, you could laminate your basement floor with hardwood laminate.

But read laminate flooring guide first.

that was just my suggestion. i have only good experiences from hardwood laminate. EVEN on cold cellar with cold tiles Cool

but i'm quite new to laminate flooring, so maybe you can give better advice to RoB?

Well, I think I have decided on the UNiclic or Pergo laminates. Both suit my needs it would seem, and I feel with the Lockguard protection of Pergo my room will be safe from the inevitable leakage of basement apartments. Wow you guys have been so helpful!
