Do you cut the tongue of the first row against the wall where the tongue is not used to interlock with anything? or just leave it and cover up by base molding? would the modling be too small (3/8" wide) compare to (tongue + expansion gap) (close to 1/2" ??)??

Since no one else will reply I will. Cut off the tongue and proceed with the rest of the floor. I noticed you had over 1000 views with no reply. What's up with that? I posted a question before I began my installation and have over 1200 views, but no one will offer advice. I guess you have to hope your question is worthy of a reply! I am sure by now you have the job done.

I think that in most all cases the manufacture says to allow for movement in floating floors.  Check the manufactures specs. to see how big the gap along all walls need to be, the size of this gap may vary according to room size.  Then check to see if the bottom edge of your base trim thickness, is going to cover the gap as well as the tounge.  If not cut the tounge!
