I have a question for those who have been there, done that. I am preparing to install Harmonics flooring in my kitchen and dining room. The kit has vinyl flooring and the dining room has carpet at this time. I was initally planning on installing 3/8 particle board over the sub floor in the dining room after I remove the old carpet. I was also planning on removing the vinyl from the kit. The kit already has 3/8 particle board under the vinyl. However the instructions on the install kit do not mention any thing about particle board. Do I just installl the underlayment right over the sub floor? If that is the case I will need to remove the particle board from the kit. The kit and dining room are attached so the new floor will flow between the two with no spaces or breaks between the two rooms. Also I would lilke to thank those who posted info about the poor quality of the Belgum manufactured laminate. I checked my boxes as soon as I read this and out of the ten cartons I had only two were made in the U.S. I will be returning all of the flooring tomorrow and buying it again when the cupon goes in to effect. Does anyone with experience have advice on the particle board matter? Thanks.
