Hi,

I live in Florida and during one of the several hurricanes we had last year my laminate floor was slightly damaged by water. The really irritating thing was that it was due to my own oversight. We boarded up and did everything right with the exception of emptying the ice bin in the fridge. When the power went out the ice melted and ran out the dispenser. By the time we got home some of the floor had bubbled. With insurance what it is in Florida and with that being the only real damage it didn't seem worth the insurance claim. I've been avoiding attempting a fix but now we are getting ready to sell the house and I'd like to do something to improve the appearance.

I've got Armstrong laminate, the old kind that is glued together. I do have extra planks. There's a lot of connected floor and to do the whole thing would be just too big a job. I really hate to use a transition strip to join the patch, that would look worse (in my opinion) that the bubbled floor. I read in another post that there is a way to do this (albeit difficult). Could someone that has experience doing this tell me how to go about it?

I appreciate the help.

Bruce
