July 4 (Bloomberg) -- Mohawk Industries Inc., the second largest U.S. carpet maker, agreed to buy Unilin Group of Belgium to expand its range of flooring products, Unilin said, without giving a purchase price. The transaction is valued at 2.2 billion euros ($2.62 billion), Belgian newspaper De Standaard reported earlier.

Unilin, the maker of Quick Step laminate flooring, had sales of 836 million euros last year and employs more than 2,400 people in Belgium, France, the Netherlands and the U.S., the Wielsbeke, Belgium-based business said today in an e-mailed statement.
