I recently moved and had carpet fitted in my living room. Where the previous carpet had been taken up the concrete has come away a little in some areas which has caused slight curling round the edges at the bottom of the stairs. Anyway i realised what a mistake it was having carpet fitted due to having dogs and i hate it.
I would like laminate flooring, i was wondering if it is possible to lay over the carpet? Also how easy is it to fit?
Any advice out there would be great.

Well they really don't recommend to put laminate over carpeting because carpeting has to much give in it.  They say however you can put laminate or a well bonded thin carpeting (like a indoor/outdoor) but not over residential carpeting, you will probably have to pull it up in order to put laminate down.
What do you mean by the concrete has come away a little in some areas? Mean chipping of the concrete?

Yes it is chipped a little at the bottom of the staircase. I think you can buy a filler for this though.
Could you lay laminate flooring on carpet underlay? It seems like such a waste as my carpet isnt even a year old yet.
