That will be a challenge, but you should be able to do it. The important thing is also that once your old laminate floor and new laminate floors are down, to deep clean them and seal them to protect them from scratching the aluminum oxide finish and peaking (when water gets into the seams and joints).
check out the LamanatorPlus line of products for that. They are professional grade, but easy for homeowners to use also. Don't need any expensive equipment to apply it either. It comes as a kit. WE Love it....and their maintenance cleaner (Buff Dry) is awesome, no streaks, no residue build up which dulls the laminate as you probably know.
