I’m looking to purchase and install the DuPont Real-Touch Elite laminate flooring. I will be installing it in my hallway, dining room, and kitchen. This particular laminate has the underlayment attached.

Should I add additional underlayment? I was told before that it should be fine but to use something like a 3mm underlayment so that the floor is not too squishy. Any one out there done this?

Thanks for the response. I was concerned as I've read a lot of people talking about laminate flooring pops/clicks. I wasn't sure if the attached underlayment that comes with the DuPont Real Touch Elite flooring is good or not.

Not only am I using additional underlayment, but I'm using the Armstrong Super quiet, which is thick padding.  At first I was worried because of the friction between the attached underlayment and the padding.  The floor could not slide around at all... which probably means it would end up buckling because it couldn't expand.  So I layed out a layer of the moisture barrier on top of the Super Quiet.  Now it's like an ice skating rink... so expansion shouldn't be an issue.

I've got about 20% of the floor layed out... I'll post if I run into any problems with the extra padding, but I think it will be nice since this is going to be a Karate / Dance room.

I'm only about a third of the way through and I've already had to fix a bunch of gaps that appeared out of nowhere.  I didn't realize it could have been from the extra flexing.

Not like anyone will be jumping around or breakdancing on it.  Heh...
