I bought some Holloway House Quick Shine floor finish to try on my floors. The web site says that it can be used for laminate, so I applied it on a test area. None of the laminate manufacturer web sites recommend putting any kind of finish on laminate and I want to make sure I don't mess anything up. On the test area, 6 coats of the stuff leave a very shiny finish, and I can walk over it with bare feet without leaving smudge marks, etc. which is why I wanted to use it in the first place. The surface isn't slippery, even though it shines alot (almost like a urethane finish). What harm can I do using this stuff? It isn't easily removed except with acetone, and I need more input on this before doing 1000 square feet of laminate with it. Thanks.

If it works id like to know more about it .
The surface of laminate flooring is resistant to almost anything so finding something that will adhere to it could be a first . One or two coats may not be a problem but the more that gets put on the thicker it gets and the easyer it may start to peel . Am only guessing on this . Would like to hear what happens over a long period of time .
Good luck

As flooringnut said it could peel off easier the thicker it is.
The only draw back is if you use this on your floor the warranty will be void.
I don't know of any manufacturer that recommends any type of finish on a laminate.
