I am putting laminate in my main bathroom. Do I need to put a sealer over the top once its installed to protect it form water? I have little children and they tend to get things VERY wet in the bathroom.

Hi Amanda
Have laid laminate flooring in bathrooms with no problems as yet .
Some have been in for 6 years .
Sealing the top of the groove with Pva glue works the best .
When fitting the planks together pva the top of the tongue edge of the plank and also the end, put the planks together making sure the glue comes to the top all the way along .Dont use to much glue as it will stop the boards from going together .
This needs to be done on the whole floor so dont miss anywhere or the water WILL get in and destroy the planks over time .
The perimete of the floor i seal with Clear bathroom silicone also the top of the skirting board where it meest the wall to stop condensation from dribbling down behind the board.
The bathroom silicone will withstand mould much better .
